I'm BACK! Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty

Wow I've been absent from my blog for so long and I really do apologize for that. This was due to 1) my summer has been jam-packed with a lot of work and other things 2) I honestly just lacked a lot of blog post ideas. But anywho, I'm back and will hopefully get in the swing of things again.

My blogger's block was helped by Emily from Ahem, It's Emme, who tagged me to do this fun tag.

Greed  What is your most expensive beauty item? 
Definitely my Dior Shimmerstar in Amber Diamond. It was $42 at Sephora! Ridiculous but luckily I did have a gift card so damage was minimized slightly.

Wrath Which item do you have a love/hate relationship with? 
This definitely has to be my Milani Liquif'eye Liner. I like the creaminess and opaqueness of this liner but everytime I put it on my waterline, it definitely smudges a little on the bottom corner of my eyes, which really looks unattractive. The smudginess worsens if it's a hot climate. 

Gluttony What brand makes up the most of your collection? 
I don't usually stick with a particular brand but I do like Revlon and Covergirl products.

Sloth Which product do you neglect the most due to laziness? 
Any type of lip product because I honestly don't see the point of putting on lipstick or lip gloss if you eat or wipe your mouth and the color is gone within an hour or two. I'm not one to re-apply makeup throughout the day, even if it's just a lip product. 

Pride Which product gives you the most confidence? 
I'd have to say mascara because it really opens up my eyes and makes me look awake yet it's very subtle. Undereye concealer is a must-have though when I'm running on little sleep.

Lust Which item is at the top of your beauty wish list? 
The new Maybelline Falsies mascara seems nice, the one with the bottom lash comb. I honestly haven't researched it at all but never tried any of the renowned Falsies collection and my mascaras are definitely near their expiration date! However, I also really want Nars Multiply in Copacabana or the famous Orgasm blush.

Envy Which makeup product/look is great on others but not yourself? 
I have to agree with the other Emily and say filling in my eyebrows. I have sparse eyebrows and it's only natural to fill them in but it just looks hideous and bizarre. Perhaps I just need to get used to the look.

1. Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale. I wouldn't consider Cooper as a celebrity crush considering he's my husband and all :).  I'm pretty sure most girls in my age crush on Justin Bieber and whatnot but there is just something about Phil and Bruce Wayne that make them irresistibly attractive. I've always been a huge fan of Bale and his movies and I mean, who doesn't have a crush on Batman? Cooper just has this cute boyish charm about him. 

2. Unfortunately, I've never properly "met" any celebrities (actually, I did meet Nicholas Braun and had a one sentence conversation with him) but I have been in the same proximity (by that I mean we were either in the same room) within a few I've been very very close to the actor who played Esteban in Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Snoop Dogg (Lion), Alyson Stoner, Cody Linley, and Jeremy Sumpter. Yeah, not exactly any A-listers (minus Snoop), which is really sad since I'm relatively close to LA.

3. Sadly, no.

4. Although Friends is by far my favorite show, I'd definitely say the Boy Meets World cast since they've slowly deviated from the spotlight (though they'll be back soon for 'Girl Meets World') and seem like down to earth people.

5. The Notebook most because of Rachel McAdams, who is basically my role model. Having Ryan Gosling as a friend wouldn't be that bad either ;)

6. Any of the Bond girls from the Daniel Craig Bond movies. Haha. Just kidding. Probably Anne Hathaway's character in The Devil Wears Prada. I think it'd be interesting to do research for that part and I'd be able to work with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt!

7. Too hard to choose but check out my Fashion Role Model series.

1)  I'm a clutz. No, really. I seem to always trip over my feet at one point in the day and fell down the stairs 3 times within my first semester in school. I also can't seem to drink out of a water bottle properly (pretty sure it's probably Arrowhead's bottle design though).

2) Donuts are my weakness. I'm pretty sure I'm double-dipping here and mentioned this in another post before but there's just something about the delicious, sweet, fried dough. 

3) I'm not a big water drinker. When I was younger, I hardly ever drank water. I'm pretty sure I'd just drink milk and apple juice which is pretty ridiculous looking back on it now. I still find it difficult to drink it but make myself anyways.

4) I don't really text. *Commence gasp* I mean I can text and I do occasionally but I guess it's because I don't really have a smart phone and I never truly felt a need to do it. I just have too much to write so I like e-mail better (phone calls are also more personal) so I don't break my thumbs. I'll probably have to cave in soon due to where the future of technology is heading.

5) My favorite TV show is Friends. If you've ever watched it, you'll know why and if you haven't, you should.

6) I have a huge obsession with Harry Potter. Huge.

7) I love watching Ellen. Who doesn't?

Tag: This or That

If you've watched beauty gurus on Youtube for a while, there was a popular tag a few years back called the This or That tag. I've always wanted to do it but since I didn't have a youtube channel back then, (still won't..I'm much too timid), I never had the opportunity to. However, now that I have a blog I guess I'll just jump right to it. The idea resurfaces after seeing Siri's video. Feel free to do this tag as well and comment below so I can see it :)

blush or bronzer: gosh, i love both immensely but i use bronzer more on a daily basis since i'm pale and i blush/turn read easily, especially in the blazing heat, which i endure most of the year
lip gloss or lipstick:    hmmm colored lip balm? lip buttter? haha i guess lipstick since many lip glosses are too                 sticky for me
eye liner or mascara: definitely mascara, would've said eyeliner a year ago though
foundation or concealer: concealer, i hardly wear foundation on an everyday basis but concealer is A MUST.
neutral or color eye shadow: neutral
pressed or loose eye shadows:  pressed, loose is too messy
brushes or sponges: brushes, i just feel it's more sanitary, whether or not it's true

nails:
OPI or china glaze: believe it or not, i've never actually owned an opi nail polish :O they just seem so damn expensive! so i'll just say china glaze but i may change my mind when i purchase an opi polish
Long or short: short (but not too short), long nails are a hassle
Acrylic or natural: natural! acrylics impede on everyday life
Brights or darks: darks
Flower or no flower: both?

perfume or body splash: perfume since it lasts longer but i use body splash more

lush or other bath company: i don't have many lushes near me, but does bath and body works count? i guess lush

fashion:
jeans or sweat pants: jeans for sure when i go out but sweat pants when lounging around at home
long sleeve of short:  long sleeves, short sleeves make my arms look fat, i either go tank top or long
dresses or skirts: i guess dresses since it's a full outfit in one haha

forever 21 or charlotte russe: hmmm i like charlotte russe a lot and it's much easier to find articles of clothing in there but i've shopped longer at f21, so i guess that will win by default but it's close!
abercombie or Hollister: hollister's cheaper for relatively the same quality so that
saks 5th or nordstrom: never actually shopped at saks fifth, but i adore nordstrom

curly or straight: straight, easier to control
bun or ponytail: i was always a ponytail girl but i'm getting into buns lately so i guess ponytail is another default win
bobby pins or butterfly clips: bobby pins, used to love butterfly pins when i was younger though

long or short: long, but i've always wanted a long bob (i wouldn't look good w/ a short one)...wish i could work a shorter hairstyle though
light or dark: i'm assuming by light, you mean blonde? considering that i couldn't exactly work a natural blonde hairstyle with my oriental heritage, dark

up or down: up when dirty and down when it's not, but i feel better when it's up

Rain or shine: contrary to what most would say, rain, i love sunshine but rain comes so rarely where i live

--My typical Sunday consists of homework and just resting or any volunteering events that day from school clubs. This is basically my catch up day for when I procrastinate homework, I refer to it as "no sleep sundays"

--My current most used handbag is this crossbody bag from Nordstrom. Surprisingly, it was only in 16$!!!! I found it in the most random place ever: the kid's section. It was in this random tub full of cute crossbody bags and I picked up a nice dark brown one and I'd say it looks pretty cute :) 

--Hmm I don't really have a favorite author but J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter so clearly, I enjoy her work. 

--Humble and hard working individuals that devote their time toward philanthropic efforts. It's refreshing to know that there is actual good out there in this seemingly greedy and corrupt world we live in. They inspire me to be a better person and to stay humble and give back. 

--Clumsy

--I can snap really loud? I'm quite a boring person really. I guess I can manage to fall down the stairs if I don't pay attention. Yes, I need to focus while walking up the stairs...(refer to answer above)

--Donuts, particularly Krispy Kreme, Furaibo, In-n-out....there's just way too many to choose but basically anything I shouldn't be eating haha

--The Bachelor. Haha just kidding! There's no way I can live with those crazy women! The Amazing Race even though I'd be terrified out of my wits, as long as I can find a partner that can do better in open water than me, I think it'd be quite an awesome adventure. I've started watching the show this season because I'm rooting for the youtubers and I really like the concept and filming of the show.

--I don't really buy clothes based on designer so I don't have one.

--The smell in Target, Barnes & Nogle, and a bakery. HAHA hmm I really have to truly think about this one but I do love the fragrance in those two places! I guess I like the smell of coffee and donuts a lot. Actually, the smell inside a Starbucks..yes that's it!

Hmm....Goblet of Fire, but Deathly Hallows is pretty close

Definitely Prisoner of Azkaban, but Order of Phoenix was great too

Most likely the first or second one
4.Parts of the books/movies that made you cry ?
The ending of both the books and movies made me cry. Like most Harry Potter fans, Dobby and Sirius's death were heart-wrenching. Snape's death in the last book also made me tear up. When Professor McGonagall called upon Hogwarts' soldiers to protect the school in the last movie, my eyes just went into ball out mode for the rest of the movie.
5.If you could be with any HP character who would it be?
Draco Malfoy. Despite his malicious ways, I know he's good on the inside...but the twins would make me laugh! Sighs. This one's tough but I guess I'll go with Oliver Wood :) haha
6.Favorite character ?
Honestly, I liked all the characters, J.K. Rowling added such dimension to them. I guess I like Ron in the books, but Neville in the movies. Actually, I really like Snape and Sirius in both too...this is way too difficult, I refuse to choose.
7.What would your Patronus be?
I've been told I look similar to a beaver, so perhaps a beaver? Maybe a fox or a cat. Or a lion. Or a PANDA. Yeah, I'm very decisive.
8.If you could have the Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak or the Elder Wand which one would you choose?
Elder Wand, bringing alive ghosts scare the living s*** out of me and the Invisibility Cloak won't do me any good since I'm horrible at keeping quiet while moving around.
9. What House would you be in?
I can definitely see myself as a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw (The former are known to be loyal and the latter are known to be clever). I'd definitely like to surround myself with those type of students. However, Pottermore did sort me into Gryffindor ;)
10.IF you could meet any member of the cast who would it be? 
Emma Watson because she seems like a lovely lady and Gary Oldman because well, he's Gary Oldman.
11.Have you played any of the video games?
Well, I did play a Harry Potter game on Gameboy Advanced before. Yes, I know, ancient. I also played this Harry Potter Spell app on my iPod.
12.IF you were on the Quiddich team which position would you play?
I had to ask my Harry Potter fanatic sister to refresh my memory about the different positions. I'd definitely choose to be Seeker because I'm horrible at defense, offensive, and goalie positions but I think I would do better while keeping my eye on the prize, such as the Snitch, even though I would be the deciding factor for my team's win or loss.
13. Were you happy with the ending?
I felt the endings in both movies and books were rushed. Although the numerous deaths were absolutely heartbreaking, I was happy with the way Rowling wrapped the series.
14.How much does Harry Potter mean to you? 
Harry Potter will always be what I consider my childhood. I still remember flying through the first four books in 3rd-4th grade and becoming obsessed with the series. I will forever be proud to have been raised in what I consider "The Harry Potter Era".
