June Favorites

June was my first month off of school, so I really had a lot of down time (which is why I revived this blog). To occupy myself, I immersed myself in random leisure activities (aka being a couch potato and eating). Therefore, I have quite a bit of favorites to share from this month!

Favorite TV Show: Law and Order SVU

I can't even tell you how OBSESSED I've become with Law and Order: SVU.  Hearing the duh-dun sound apparent in all the Law and Order episodes gets me all excited. Cable television usually has a marathon of reruns on several channels and the few I watched previously didn't really seem like my cup of tea. The only crime show I watched was NCIS, which I absolutely adored and SVU seemed to lack that continuous character development and quirks that I loved so much in NCIS. However, I recently started getting into SVU and I fell in love with the brilliant writing and superb filming. The harsh cases shed light on the atrocities that happen in front of our blind eyes. I love the way the show makes me feel so passionate for justice yet so betrayed by the justice system. Sometimes, this show makes me want to pursue a career as an ADA. Plus, the writers manage to make each episode unpredictable. Even if I tune in for the last 10 minutes of an episode, I'm always sucked in until the end. And there is actually some continuous character development, making me attached to some of the characters, who are portrayed by exceptional actors. Though I'm usually not a fan of somber shows, SVU is so worth the watch. If I don't convince you, SVU is even one of Taylor Swift's favorite shows...she even named her cat after Olivia!

Favorite Beauty Product: Loreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Liquid Eyeliner

I've never been a huge fan of liquid liner, but the Loreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Liquid Eyeliner I picked up on a whim has converted me. This product is so opaque and easy to apply. I love how the tip is flimsy, making it much easier to maneuver across my eyelid. This eyeliner is perfect for winging to make a cat eye as well. On my lazy days (which is almost every day), I find myself only applying this and leaving the house. The only drawback I find with this product is that it is definitely not waterproof and wipes away quite easily when just a little bit of water gets on your eyelids. Just make sure you don't wear this when you know you're going to cry. Though I have sweaty eyelids, this eyeliner still stays on pretty well throughout the day. 

Favorite Food: Taco Bell

My brain says no but my heart says yes

This is pretty embarrassing but I've become obsessed with Taco Bell. I never really ate there until this year, which is ironic because I live within a minute driving distance of one, Yet, now I find myself going there at least once a week. I realize their food is essentially toxic to your health but I really just can't help it. Their Doritos Locos Taco, Beefy Nacho Grillers...washing it down with a Baja Blast...mmm. Fake Mexican food heaven. I wasn't going to share this, but I've learned to be PROUD of my Taco Bell addiction.

Favorite Drink: Starbucks S'mores Frappucino

This heavenly concoction came out a while ago, but I still feel obligated to include it in my favorites because I'm so in love with it. It is a frappucino with a bottom layer of marshmallow whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, frappucino (coffee flavored?) topped with more marshmallow cream and finished with a graham cracker crumb sprinkle. Whoever invented this drink was a godsend because this drink brings tears to my eyes with every sip I take (only half joking). There was even a period when I ordered this at least 3x a week. It is on the sweeter side, which is great for my insatiable sweet tooth. If you love s'mores, I highly recommend you try this drink. It WILL change your life.

'Orange is the New Black' Is Back and NOT Better Than Ever

The start of my summer started on a rather exciting note with the release of Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black" (can we say FINALLY). Being the professional binge-watcher I am, I successfully finished the season within a week. Although each episode was interesting and humorous as ever, I felt the season culminated in a disappointing finale that left me going "That was it?". 

(***NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD***)

To be fair, I enjoyed each episode individually but I felt the overarching storyline of season 3 just didn't do it for me. I was especially disappointed my character and plot developments. To organize my scattered thoughts, I'm going to break down the season into the parts I liked/didn't like.

Piper and Alex

Though Piper and Alex may have been the protagonists in the first two seasons, they turned out to be the two most boring characters in the latest season. Not only has their relationship fizzled out, their storylines have as well. Piper's innocent persona transformed into an obnoxious ring leader, and Alex's paranoia over Kubra became overplayed and annoying. I missed the old Piper and I just didn't buy her turning into a twisted, cruel badass. Even actual badass Alex couldn't stand her anymore. Piper also seemed to have lost her moral compass and sanity, leading her to backstabbing, vengeance, and gangster-related leadership. However, I will concede that I thought the whole black market of prison-worn panties to be a pretty funny side plot. Yet, it still couldn't save from the yawns that occurred every time Piper was focused on the show (noticeably less this season than the past...thank goodness). 

Stella

I already saw social media going "lesbian" for Ruby Rose before the season was even released. Therefore, I've been looking forward to her arrival for quite some time and was surprised by her delayed appearance (around ep. 4? can't remember) and even more surprised by her lack of character development. Sure, she was absolutely stunning and even Piper couldn't resist her, but I felt like Stella had so much potential to grow on the viewers until she was backstabbed by Piper and whisked away to Max (CURSE PIPER!). Other than a few snarky remarks, Stella's characterization wasn't developed whatsoever. She was just some mysterious, snarky, hot chick who Piper cheated with. I really hope she comes back for season 4 so we can learn more about her past.

The Latinas

Perhaps the most annoying ethnic group this season was The Latinas. Although their sassy retorts are always amusing fodder, I couldn't stand the attitudes of some of the women, especially Aleida (Daya's mom) and Gloria. I've never been a fan of Aleida because she is such a horrible mother and despicable human being but season 3 really took the cake for me. I scoffed at her self-profiting scheme masked by phony concern for her pregnant daughter's well-being and was particularly mad when she told Mendez's mom the baby died. I get it was her trying to right a wrong with her daughter but the finale clearly showed it was the wrong move when Cesar got busted by the DEA. Who knows where Daya's baby will end up? In addition, Gloria's self-entitled attitude was beyond aggravating the entire season. Whether it was her assertion in the kitchen to her selfish response to Sophia, she was (excuse my french) a crazy bitch this season. I'm glad Red eventually took over the kitchen. The fact that Sophia had to suffer so brutally due to Aleida and Gloria's juvenile personalities made me dislike them even more. On the other hand, I absolutely loved Daya this season and my heart broke for her when Bennet (damn you Bennet!) left her. I also felt bad for the air-headed Flaca, who has shown some aspiration (poorly thought out ones but still admirable) in the prison. 

Litchfield Takeover
The worst part of this entire season was the Litchfield takeover. I'm glad the prison was saved, but I couldn't stand the new correctional officers (other than the new counselor) and corporate overhauling. All of the new employees were so idiotic that I couldn't stand watching them at some points. Pennsatucky's rape angered me so much and I felt so bad for the character I used to hate so much. I hope that correctional officer meets a sufficient punishment in the next season. And when Sophia was being beaten by those women, the female CO who did nothing but run to Caputo was so idiotic...I wanted to slap her through my computer screen. I genuinely felt bad for the former employees and Caputo, who is morally conflicted. Though I understand where they were coming from, I'm sad they all left and hope they will come back for their old jobs. 

Finale
The finale itself was filled with little plot twists that didn't surprise me as much as I assume the directors were hoping for. For instance, the only unpredictable event was when Piper turned on Stella (and of course, Stella turning on Piper before...which made me believe their relationship was a lie). It made me mad because it meant we might never see Stella again and Piper has turned into the cruel bitch I never thought she'd be--and in a bad way. Possibly the only loose end I look forward to is the fate of Alex, who has been tracked down by presumably one of Kubra's spies, who was hired as a CO. The stupidest plot turn in the finale was the gaping hole in the fence, allowing all the prisoners to escape...to a seemingly confined lake. That scene was so anti-climatic and disappointing. The ending scene, which showed A LOT of new prisoners, also didn't have the POW I was looking for. I could honestly care less about doubling the cast of this show. If anything, it makes me mad because I don't want to care about any more characters. But season 4 might prove me wrong.

Overall, I was disappointed by the stupidity of some of season 3's plot turns (like Norma's "cult"). I did love the different back stories, but OITNB lost a little bit of its charm and ingenuity that were apparent the past two seasons. I hope season 4 will be much better.

May Favorites

*Drumroll please*. My first ever monthly 'favorites'! I do not know why it took me this long to actually compile a bunch of my favorite things of the month. I guess I felt that I did not discover anything new or important enough to share with the world. Luckily, I stumbled upon quite a few new and awesome things in the lovely month of May!

TV SHOW:
"The Office"

I'm really late on "The Office" train but every summer I choose a show to watch to pass time (more like waste time). "The Office" has always been a show I've wanted to watch and after watching a few episodes, I got hooked. My television addiction kicked in once again and I already flew through the first two seasons in just a few days. Every episode has me cracking up and the ingenuity of the writers never fail to impress me.

BEAUTY:
Maybelline's Falsies Big Eye Mascara

I picked up this mascara on a whim at Target and I do not regret it. It is now one of my favorite mascaras. It makes my lashes extremely long and holds my curl. I must concede that the lower lash wand doesn't seem to make that much of a difference and I don't really see the purpose of it but it is nevertheless a great mascara. I chose the waterproof version of this mascara and it doesn't smudge on my eyes at the end of the day. Yay.

*UPDATE*
I freaking love this mascara. I actually see more of an effect on my lower lashes now. It really does separate each individual lash and lengthens and volumizes like crazy. It holds my curl and I've never seen a greater effect from a mascara than this one. This has definitely cracked my top 5 mascaras. 

SNACK:
Green tea KitKats

Wait what? Say that again? Green tea kitkats? 

Though overpriced, green tea kitkats is basically what the name suggests. Kitkats with a green tea flavored chocolate coating. It has a stranger more powdery (?) texture than the normal kitkat. I absolutely adore this candy. Even if it does not seem that appealing to you, I highly recommend giving a chance to this interesting twist on the classic candy. I tend to find this in asian supermarkets; it can be quite pricey but this is something you have to try at least once in your life.

How I Met Your Mother Finale Reaction and RANT *SPOILERS*

All HIMYM fans have been waiting for this moment forever: the epic moment of how Ted met the mother.

Let's just say I have never been so emotionally distraught from a TV episode in my whole life (other than the Friends finale). I was first elated, then disappointed, then annoyed, and then outraged.

Now the amount of speculation that revolved around the finale has been apparent for a while, such as the whole mother-is-dead thing, which I totally bought and rightfully so when the finale revealed that the mother was indeed dead (hence, Ted's use of past tense in almost everything he says).

I would have assumed, however, that the writers would change it up to throw off fans from this theory. They didn't.

This was unfortunate since I was incredibly sad when they did show the mother got ill and died, confirming everyone's fears.

However, this did not even come close to what outraged me the most from the episode. 

Perhaps the biggest offense of the episode was the writers' decision to divorce Barney and Robin after three years of marriage. When they announced their divorce, I kept on hoping that this was all some sick joke and that they would end up together. There was no way, Barney and Robin, who I've shipped since the season they got together, who the writers have developed so much, would throw away their marriage like that. What the HIMYM writers spend a whole season on was thrown away within the first 30 minutes of the episode.

But it was obvious from all the signs that Ted and Robin were better matched. Yet there was something about Barney and Robin that meshed, that made me a fan of them and a majority of the fan base a fan of them. The writers developed Barney into a man who has changed for the better, for the woman that he loved, for the woman he burned the playbook for, for the woman he would end his sleazy lifestyle for. And by divorcing them two and allowing Barney to make a new playbook and go back to his sleazy lifestyle...the writers threw away nine years of character development.

It is not just Barney that the writers tarnished, but Robin as well. They made her seem like the coldest bitch around when she yelled at Lilly and never wanting to hang out  with the gang. The gang even started mocking her, calling her the yeti, as if she was some alien. This really angered me because the twist was just so unbelievable.

Probably the only thing I actually liked from this episode was Barney becoming a father. I teared up. Although I hoped #31 would be Nora or Quinn (after Robin, of course), I'm slightly happy that he had a lovechild with an unimportant woman, especially since he's always wanted to become a dad, something that Robin could not give him. 

Is somebody cutting onions around here?

Nevertheless, the double plot twist at the end when Ted's kids tell him to ask out Aunt Robin confirmed my worst fear. Not only was it such a stretch, the way it was done was so stupid. Ted ran to Robin's apartment with her gazillions of dogs and when she opens the window, she sees old Ted holding up the blue french horn from season one. The episode ends.

Yeah, I get it, it's the exact same scene from season one except 20-30 years later. Cute. 

No. Not cute at all. Barf. Worst way to end ten years of a show ever.

Barney and Robin were meant to be! Robin wasn't supposed to turn into the cold bitch that she did near the end and Barney was supposed to give up his slutty ways to be with her. They worked and the writers ruined everything.

The overall tone of the episode digressed from the usual light tone of the show. It was way too somber (I mean I get it's the series finale but it was just too different to work).  The characters  also morphed into characters that were so unlike from what the actual characters are that the plot became unbelievable. 

I'm still suffering from shock and will probably be emotionally distraught for the rest of the week.

True Blood Season 6 Reaction

Honestly after a very absurd ending to Season 5 (Billith emerging from the pool of blood...uh gross), I contemplated whether I'd continue to watch True Blood or not. I decided to give it another go (mainly because Game of Thrones just ended) and boy am I glad I did!

This season has been the best yet because: 1) Alcide's hardly in it. 2) The plot is moving at a good pace 3) No off-putting overly romantic cheesiness 4) Sookie's not as annoying 5) Nobody likes Bill 6) Tara's not as annoying 7) More focus on the primary characters' storylines than the side ones like Sam 8) Impending Vampire vs Human War...? I think yes!

Just a fair warning if you've never read any of my past TV show reaction posts, I do get quite into these posts so excuse any offensive language. I'll be commenting on any major turning points in the plot. Therefore, if you haven't watched this season, SPOILERS AHEAD.

Warlow:

Well well well of course some guy stuck in a bush would turn out to be some gorgeous dimpled hunk who even broken-hearted Sookie is slightly enamored with. I instantly saw chemistry between the two and (although I freaking love Eric, him and Sookie have had no chemistry...even when he had a mini bout of amnesia) really wanted them to get together until *BAM* we realize he's Warlow--Lilith's progeny who happens to also be a ROYAL fae and a vampire. Say what?! I was initially sad because that meant Sookie and him would never get together. Of course the story unfolds that he is actually sort of a good guy and Sookie's parents are actually wackos (seriously....her dad really tried to kill his daughter...twice) and Warlow wants to be with Sookie, his rightful mate or whatever. Blah blah blah just take your damn shirt off.

Billith:

 Ah yes Bill, or shall I say Billith? He officially went to Crazy Town, USA and his poor baby Jessica, who feels compelled to support her maker. Even though I really didn't like him in the beginning of the season, I'm starting to really like him. For example, he seems nearly invincible now, especially since he's found a temporary way to walk in the sun and he apparently can't die from a stake. I still can't believe Sookie had the balls enough to stake him, I mean who seriously thought that would ever happen? Not me. In the last episode, he decapitated the governor which was a pretty epic scene. He also has visions of the future. A noteworthy one is one with all the vampires (Jess, Tara, Eric, Pam, etc) in jail attire inside a metallic room (later learned to be part of the evil governor's torturing lab chambers) and are exposed to the sun, and they're all set on fire. Definitely going to be part of the season finale.

Return of Sarah:

Oh no. Not her again. If it ain't (as LaFayette would say...or maybe it's just me) the bible-banging Fellowship of the Sun psychotic biatch (aka Newman's ex-wife)! Apparently she's banging the Louisiana Governor, who's plotting to eradicate the vampire race, even the latest episode revealed they are adding a lethal to vampires only substance in all bottles of Tru Blood, which there is a shortage of. Her and her (now late) boyfriend, who she used because as she said in order to cause change, "you gotta get into politics," run a "research" (aka torture) labratory where they treat them like animals, attempting to study their psychological background and even during copulation, a word Jason did not know (lol). She was also on the brink of mentioning something to the governor and it sounded like she had big news but never truly got around to it but I have a feeling she might be pregnant with his baby but now that she's slept with Jason, she'll claim it's his. I smell trouble.

Eric & Pam

I really love this dynamic duo so it was really annoying when the writers decided to strain their relationship, especially regarding Nora and the governor's daughter. He even released her, which was extremely sad. I was really scared when they were put in that mini torture chamber to fight each other but luckily they both read each others' minds and attacked the government officials instead. I really hope they mend their relationship because I really love their cute father daughter relationship.

The Emma Custody Battle/Annoying Supernaturals-Human Alliance Advocates

When Nora died, her dying wish was for Sam to take care of Emma. Although I believe Emma deserves to be with Sam, as long as she's with Martha and not the wolf pack, I'm okay with that. I still wish he left her a phone number or something to keep in touch rather than straight-up abandoning her but I guess it's for her own safety. Now about those annoying hipster/world peace wannabes, I'm glad the werewolves killed all of them but I'm not glad Nicole managed to escape and is now running away with Sam. I mean, really?? I used to really like Sam but he's been getting more and more annoying each season.

The Bellefleur's 

I honestly never gave a crap about this family until this season. Seeing Andy struggle being a father to his rapidly growing quadruplet girls was amusing, especially with his "number" names. However, it was really sad seeing his heartbreak finding out all but one of his girls were killed by Jessica. Now about his brother Terry......

I get that he was so traumatized by their murders during wartime but man that death scene was just so sad. Poor Arlene. She thought she prevented his suicide by making him forget, which made it even worse since Terry had no idea why he was shot. I wish LaFayette still had a stash of his V which he could feed to Terry to save him. I was basically bawling during this entire scene.

What I'm Watching: Game of Thrones

I've always heard about the awesomeness of 'Game of Thrones'. Since I'm a complete TV junkie, I decided to do a little research. It's based on the novels by George R. R. Martin and considering my lack of interest in anything regarding fantasy, it just seemed like some idiotic HBO show about soldiers with cool accents from the medieval era playing with swords and dragons. My interest wasn't piqued.

Then summer rolled around. School ended. I was bored and every summer I always start a new show. And I couldn't ignore the praises for this show any longer so I decided to make the best decision of my life. I watched the first episode.

Now, this is HBO and I do watch True Blood and am quite familiar with the graphic, animalistic sex scenes present in almost every episode. The same goes with GoT. So children, avert your eyes and do not watch this show! 

Other than the occasional explicit sex scenes and constant nudity, Game of Thrones epitomizes the word 'epic'. It took me a few episodes to truly get hooked onto this show. And once I did, I was addicted. In fact, I finished all three seasons within a week and a half. 

The beginning of the pilot focuses on the Stark family, a noble and powerful family in the North of Westeros, the continent of which the story is set and consists of seven kingdoms. The plot soon splits into multiple storylines (though I still feel as if the Starks are the 'main focus') and each episode centers around the selfish, malevolent Lannisters, who is the family of Queen Cersei; the Targaryens, who are fighting to seize back the throne from King Baratheon, who overthrew their father, the previous king; and the endeavors of the other great houses across the seven kingdoms. Soon after an unforeseeable event, chaos breaks loose and the war known as 'War of the Five Kings' erupts to seize the 'Iron Throne'. Meanwhile, tension at "The Wall", the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms and serves as protection against outsiders known as 'wildlings', intensifies when a seemingly unstoppable species resurrects from extinction. The amount of ain't-afraid-to-go-there twists, funny quips, and lovable/hateable characters distinguishes this show from others. Martin's creative brilliance is exemplified in each episode. A once hated character can easily turn into a loved character and vice versa. Every episode is 50-60 minutes of greatness. My opinion of this show changed from some nerdy, stupid storyline that only men who play videogames and drink beer all day care to watch to an addictive, mind-blowing, and just plain awesome show.

This isn't one of those shows where you're sort of nonchalant when the episodes come out and you aren't very captivated and could care less about the fate of the characters. No. This show will seriously become addictive, especially if you were like me and had three seasons to speed through. The fact that each season only has 10 episodes and GoT fans must wait one year until the next season doesn't help either. Again since it's HBO, I will warn that some brutality scenes can get quite graphic as well but I wouldn't say it's anything near The Walking Dead. 

 It's nearly impossible to try to articulate how extraordinary this show is in one blog post but all I can say is that if you're into Lost, The Walking Dead, or intense shows like that and can put your mature thinking cap on, you'll definitely love Game of Thrones. Although you may still not be convinced to watch the show, I still recommend at least sticking it out til' the end of season one and then tell me how you like it.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Finale Reaction

Two words.

Holy shi*.

I apologize for my language but this TVD's season 4 finale was so epic and mind-blowing there are no words to even explain the intensity and plot twists of the episode. I've never been on the edge of my seat so much.

In fact, there were so many twists I'm just going to jot down all my thoughts in a list of events (SPOILER ALERT) :

--Katharine taking the cure: Halllelujah. Elena actually does something right for once! I used to really like Katharine but she's just gotten incredibly annoying as the season progressed with her whole "free me from klaus" speeches. At long last, she is the last thing she wants to be: mortal. I'm wondering how this will affect her seemingly strained relationship with Elijah (which btw is repulsive, eli can do way better). I somehow suspect Katharine won't stay human, which would've been a waste of the cure.

--Delena: Ah yes every Delena fan jumped and screamed and kicked their joy away when Elena finally confessed to Damon, who she is not sired to anymore, that she loves him. Though I was a huge Delena fan, I honestly wasn't very excited. For some reason, their whole storyline just got played out and I really wasn't interested anymore. Plus, I really hate Elena but love Damon and he deserves 10x more than what Elena offers (though Nina Dobrev is absolutely stunning of course). 

Yes, you are welcome.

--Dead Supernaturals' Stint at Life: This was by far my favorite part of the whole episode. I was giddy and squealing when my favorite dead supernaturals came back to life when Bonnie dropped the veil. It was amazing, I mean: Lexi, Alaric (whom I missed dearly for Damon is a sad puppy without his good ol' drinking friend...anybody remember when Damon told someone Alaric's old bar seat was taken..*tear*), and Jeremy (well actually he was just okay). I really wish they somehow had Lexi or Alaric stay and it was painful to see them go but the producers decided to keep Jeremy instead in exchange for Bonnie (which I don't mind since I never liked that witch). 

--Matt and Rebecca (Mabecca?): I honestly didn't see this one coming. Not their budding relationship but me actually wanting them to get together. I mean Rebecca has such an old soul about her (well duh considering she's centuries old) but Matt brings out the sweet, young girl inside her who just wants to go to prom and raise a family. I totally ship them, especially after that whole bomb trigger scene. Super cute.

--Stefan's Doppelganger: This was definitely the biggest surprise of the night. I mean, what. the. f*ck!? Silas is Stefan's doppelganger?! Huh?! I don't understand but I'm sure more details will unfold with Season 5. And you would think Stefan's vampiric strength would allow him to break free from that safe but I guess not (seriously?). I think it's going to be very interesting to see Silas take over Stefan's life and see how long it will take for anyone to notice. I can definitely see an intense confrontation soon between fake Stefan and Damon or an epic entrance from the actual Stefan.

--Klaroline: Are you joking? Writers, directors, producers or whoever has strung Klaroline fans along this whole season and all you give us is a measly peck on the lips WHICH U DIDNT EVEN SHOW. All we get is the sound of some pucker. NO. Just no. We do not deserve this. I swear when Klaus said something along the lines of "[Tyler] was your first love. But I intend to be your last," I could hear memes being created throughout the Internet. I'm so disappointed Caroline isn't scheduled to appear in The Originals, which I'm dying to see. But whatever, our patience is being tested and hopefully Klaroline will kindle their relationship once again.

Hi I'm Klaus and I'm irresistible but I decided to be a slut and now have baby on the way so I'm juts gonna be an idiot and allow my one true love be with the guy she is convinced is her one true love because I'm just that logical. Oh yeah and even though I love her like crazy, I'm just not gonna be all coy about it because I'm too much of a prideful bitch. 

Sorry for any cuss words throughout this post I get really into this show sometimes. I hope you enjoyed it and I cannot wait til' October for the next season!

Walking Dead: Season 3 Finale

I won't be doing a recap of "Welcome to the Tombs" (well, not really), the season 3 finale, but I'm just going to give my final thoughts so SPOILERS ARE AHEAD. You've been warned.

Seriously, I commend the writers' ability to tug at the viewers' heartstrings and invoke pity for even the most annoying characters. I'm pretty sure many of us have wanted Andrea to just die already this season but boy I took back my words this episode.

I mean if we really think about all the stupid and annoying things she's done, she deserved to die. But, she did have a change of heart and the fact that she was so. damn. close. to returning to the prison. Ugh. It really sucks because her depressing death (shot herself due to zombie bite) makes us feel like the governor will win (we know that won't be the case though). Sighs, I hate how she's been an "original" character too so it makes it worse for us since we've been with her (or she's been with us) since the very beginning....

I was really shocked that the Governor and his minions just ran off after some bells and whistles and the alarm sounded off. I mean I expected much more.

I still really enjoyed this episode and I'll really miss Milton and Andrea. Even though I hated the latter for a while, it was still very sad to see her go and I'd take her back any day. I also felt very bad for Michonne, who isn't one to display her emotions but when she stayed with Andrea and the look on her face....

Anyways, I'm really glad that they rescued the Woodbury residents. I mean, I get that means more mouths to feed and more objections to fight but I always thought the more the merrier. All in all, this was a sad finale and I cannot believe I have to wait so long for the next season.

The Walking Dead: "Prey"

The Walking Dead's become more like The Talking Dead these past few episodes but last week's episode, "Prey" turned it around. This episode focused it all on Andrea, which normally I would have a problem with considering I despise her character. However, I was actually interested this time since she seems to have become more aware of the governor's psycho ways.

Anyways, the episode sort of lags, nothing really noteworthy except Andrea sees the governor putting together a torture chamber--presumable for Michonne--which instigates her escape. She finally leaves Woodbury after convincing Tyreese and his lady friend, forgot her name, to let her go. On a side note, I really do hope they break free from the deceiving utopian society of Woodbury since they, especially Tyreese, are important characters in the comics.

After she flees, the governor finds out and pursues her and of course, with his determined "I'm going to get you and kill you" pose/stare. 

Meanwhile, Tyreese and the rest of his group are taken to gather a group of walkers to release to the prison. The morally right Tyreese disagrees but his fellow survivor, the annoying husband of the woman who died at the prison..don't know his name either, gets defensive. The following day, Martinez discovers the pit the walkers were held captive in burnt to a crisp with charred walkers. He tells the governor and the viewers and the governor it was Tyreese's doing, but it turns out it was in fact, Milton, the awkward, weak, morally conflicted doctor/scientist/nerd at Woodbury aka the governor's right hand man. 

Anyways, back to Andrea, she manages to find her way to the prison and is clearly tired and flustered. She narrowly escapes the governor but right when Rick is about to see her, the governor pushes her to the ground, hindering her from his view. 

The episode ends with the governor telling his crew that he could not find Andrea but the camera pans to Andrea locked up and duct taped in the torture chamber she saw in the beginning of the episode. 

Honestly, I'm absolutely an Andrea hater...she was a bitch to Dale, she shot Daryl, she's rash, she slept with the governor, she inadvertently chose the governor over Rick's group, and she missed the SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES TO KILL THAT MOTHEREFFING DOUCHE BAG GOVERNOR. 

What was I saying again? Oh right, well even though I basically hate her, seeing her in that room invoked pity for her because I just know something gruesome is coming up for her. Can't wait.

Top 5 Favorite TV Shows of ALL TIME

In case you did not know this, I am a HUGE TV junkie and love obsessing over TV shows old or new. I always end up finishing an old show or catching up on shows in a very short period of time, it's scary really. Anyways, I decided to share what are my favorite TV shows of all time. This post was slightly inspired by my good friend, Ahem It's Emme, so go check out her blog. 

1. Friends (1994-2004)
In case you have never watched Friends before, you are really missing out on life. I'm not kidding. One episode of this Emmy-winning comical show will turn anybody's depressing day around. The sitcom focuses on six New Yorkers who never seem to work. The story follows the drama and hilarious events that accompany these amazing characters. Watching the last episode broke my heart to let go of these lovable characters but then you re-watch it from episode 1 and get to relive the comedy once again. If you have netflix or any other sources to watch this legendary series, I definitely insist that you do. They also play re-runs on Nick at Nite from 11pm-1am every night (I still recommend watching it in chronological order though).

2. Lost (2004-2010)

Ah, yes, Lost, probably one of the most bizarre shows of all time. The synopsis consists of a plane crash on a mysterious island and the survivors must face weird happenings around them. The series finale did not tie up any loose ends and left their viewers confused more than they have ever been before. So why do I like it so much? The strangeness of the show and the attachment to the characters and their background are intriguing and captivated a majority of its fan base. To be honest, I don't even know why I like it so much, just ask any other Lost fan and I guarantee you they will most likely say the same thing. It's difficult to convey the storyline of this series without making the show sound absolutely stupid but you just have to take my word that this show is for a lack of better word, awesome.

3. The Walking Dead (2010-present)

Now I never in my life would have thought I would be watching The Walking Dead. The incredibly suspenseful show has dominated my Sunday nights (mostly my Monday nights since I procrastinate my homework Sunday). This is not just some zombie show, the script embodies the sacrifices the characters must make to survive the apocalypse. Consequently, there are dark character developments that truly epitomize what humans would become in dire circumstances. The fact that this show is only three seasons in and has become my third favorite TV show of all time means that I highly recommend anybody that can take gore to watch this epic show.

4. How I Met Your Mother (2005-present)
The CBS comedy show shares a striking resemblance to Friends, but still does not live up to the famous sitcom. However, that still does not mean this show is far from as Barney would say legen-wait for it-DARY. This show's definitely pulling on its last leg here with another season coming up. I truly hope for the cast and crew's stake that season 9 will indeed be the last since the creativity on this show is lacking. Nevertheless, How I Met Your Mother has been a wonderful journey to see five New Yorkers get on with their lives and further (or delay) their career. The star of this show is none other than Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) and his flirtatious ways, but it is nice to see him settle down for the one and only--don't want to spoil it, so you just have to watch it :)

5. Grey's Anatomy (2005-present)
I almost omitted the Grey's Anatomy from this list since the past two seasons have really spiraled down. Nevertheless, the amazingness from the first 5-6 seasons have made up for the mediocre episodes that Shonda Rhimes has been throwing out the past year. Before plummeting to inexcusable boredom, this intensely dramatic and at times heartbreaking medical drama  was a wonderful show that threw out suspenseful and original storylines to capture the hearts of its viewers. Like all shows that run too long, the writers/directors took some missteps in order to rejuvenate the series, but unfortunately, it backfired. I still have hope and will continue watching this series until the end. Despite my criticism of the recent seasons, you should definitely start this wonderful--and always will be---show. And if you still aren't sold, McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) and McSteamy (Eric Dane) should be enough to hook you in ;)

"The Vampire Diaries: Into the Wild" Recap/Rant

It's been a while since I've written about one of my favorite TV shows, The Vampire Diaries. 

Now that Jeremy has completed his tattoo, the crew (Stefan, Damon, Elena, Rebecca, Shane, Bonnie, and Jeremy) embark on their journey to find the cure on some island. 

Boring Rebecca vs Elena tension throughout the whole episode and I was totally on Rebecca's side the whole time. I laughed when Rebecca said that everybody serves a purpose there except for Elena and goes on to say Damon has a nice butt ;). 

Meanwhile, Klaus is still trapped in Elena's house due to Bonnie's spell. Tyler visits to taunt him, which doesn't really work out because Klaus ends up biting Caroline, which nearly kills her. He refuses to save her (which I thought was a ploy because he definitely loves her). However, near death, Caroline convinces the angered Klaus to save her after saying that he is human because she knows he is capable of love since he loves her. *tear* In my opinion, the writers definitely did not help with the whole Klaroline progress in this episode, which was annoying. I think we've all been waiting for that to happen. I guess we will have to wait four seasons since it took that long for Damon and Elena to get together (even though they supposedly blame it on the sire bond). 

The fact that Shane is still alive is completely aggravating because honestly, nobody trusts this guy. It seems that only Damon has some common sense dealing with him. I mean, yeah yeah Bonnie wouldn't be able to control "expression" without him but let's face it, like Damon, I don't like her either. Of course, little goody-two-shoes Elena barely saves Shane from getting killed by Damon. The idiot that she is, she decides to release the untrustworthy Shane and of course, he disappears to capture Bonnie and Jeremy. It is also revealed that he came on the island to see the apparition of his late wife, who also happens to be a witch. Her ghost told him to revive Silas to resurrect his son and wife; thus, the reason for Shane's actions. Bonnie does a location spell to track Jeremy, who has been mysteriously captured. She ends up following a blaze of fire and ends up walking onto a trap by some unknown man and Shane along with Jeremy. 

At the end of the episode, it is revealed that everyone except for Stefan, Rebecca, and Elena (ooh...tension) are missing. The tombstone and Shane's belongings also disappeared (thanks to Elena). The final scene ends with Damon's neck being snapped by some unidentified man (he looks like a supernatural).

During the episode, Damon tells Elena that he does not want to be human again and does not want the cure (I predicted this). Elena seems shocked by the news (come on girl, really). Damon goes on to say that is not the problem, Stefan is. This conversation really annoyed me because it further crushed Delena fans' dreams of seeing the bad-ass vampire get the girl (even though she's superrrrr annoying). As stated before, Klaroline is going nowhere but backward and it's starting to really piss me off....

Grey's Anatomy Rant

**If you have not watched the most recent episode of Grey's, spoilers ahead
Season 9 of Grey's Anatomy kicked off with an absolute shock to die hard Grey's fans everywhere: the death of Lexie and Mark.

I honestly wish I had made a blog earlier so I could have written down my immediate reaction right when it happened. In a way, I guess it was a good thing because the post would have been without a doubt filled with explicit language.

I couldn't believe the audacity Shonda Rhimes had to kill two of the most beloved characters of the show. Does she not understand that nearly everyone has been rooting for them as a couple since their relationship even began!?!? More importantly, couldn't she had just left them to run off together. I don't care if Chyler Leigh didn't want fans to believe that she would ever come back. It's cruel and heartless to do this to the fans. Anyways, I was pissed and angry and I retaliated by not watching the show for several episodes after that. However, the culprit wasn't their deaths (even though it did have a little to do with me stopping)but it was in fact the lackluster episodes. The show has spiraled to boredom central rather than the amazing show it once had been. 

I was also incredibly angry by the introduction of the ignorant new interns/residents (w/e they are). Would it hurt a producer to bring back a few old characters (the very few left that haven't been killed off)? What about Izzie or Burke (now that T.R. Knight is gone)? I understand that Seattle Grace is a teaching hospital, but are you freaking serious?! I'm assuming they thought it would be refreshing to view the residents as the way the attendees had once viewed Grey, Yang, and the others. However, they epitomize stupidity. I still don't like any of them. I especially hate that new girl who has a strange resemblance to the younger Meredith. However, what really ticks me off is the show's attempt to replace her as Lexie. She has an uncanny similarity to Lexie and she's learning neuro from Shepherd. I can already tell they're going to shape her and Karev into an overplayed intern + attendee relationship. And then there's still annoying Kepner, who still has somehow managed to survive this tragedy-ridden show. I'm glad her and Avery are over--for now--she was just way too emotional and Avery deserves much better. 

The show SOMEWHAT redeemed itself in the latest episode, "Walking on a Dream." The patient stories were actually sort of interesting and it was refreshing to see Arizona overcome her phantom limb issue. This still doesn't mean I was not annoyed by some of the characters. Even though he is a surgical newbie, Ross made my hit list when he killed the first liver. Speaking of liver, the second liver seemed to have some cancerous growth on it, yet they still put it in the patient. I smell another lawsuit coming. The episode was saved by none other than my my favorite characters, Christina and Bailey. Christina's phony speech about saving the kids, covering up her desire for complicated surgeries, was enlightening and hilarious. Bailey's rebuff to Derek when he rejected the proposal to shut down the ER was righteous and is one of the top quotes of that character of all time. 
**UPDATE: "Bad Blood" is probably the best episode of the season. Christina and Bailey's lines were hilarious and the plot line got a little more interesting. I am officially hooked to the show again.

The Bachelor Season 17 Premiere Reaction

Yes. I am a few weeks late but hey, life gets a little chaotic and stressful and sometimes one doesn't have as much time to blog. 

Anyways, so in case you haven't heard, Sean Lowe is the new bachelor and he has 26 women to choose the supposed woman he "wants to spend the rest of his life with." Because it's totally reasonable to want to marry a woman that you have dated for a couple of months WHILE seeing other women. 

Despite the stupidity of the show, I still can't help but always be drawn to the craziness that accompanies the season premiere. However, I never really watch any of the episodes of the rest of the season because I always spoil it on Reality Steve. Keep in mind that I started the whole "Bachelor" franchise since Jillian Harris's "The Bachelorette" season. I have probably watched four seasons as a whole. 

In my opinion, Sean Lowe epitomizes the "All-American Hunk". When I watched a few episodes of Emily's season, I never really took a liking to Sean but never really hated him either. He just seemed boring and too perfect. Kiptyn, anyone? (Even though I really took a liking to him when he was on "Bachelor Pad") 

The premiere was packed with many good surprises. When I watched the season premiere of "The Bachelor," I was quite appalled by the producers' attempts to renovate and switch things up a little. This is because when the women started being interview, I noticed quickly that there was more multi-racial women than usual. 

I mean, I've never truly watched the whole franchise until as stated before, Jillian's season, but I have noticed that the show mainly brings in stunning, abnormally fit, Caucasian women. Nevertheless, props to the producers for trying to incorporate diverse women in the show! 

Speaking of diverse women, there was one contestant (ugh I hate calling these women that) that probably captured the attention of many viewers. Sarah, the beautiful woman with one arm, shocked me and probably many others. Once again, I was surprised. Really surprised. I was pretty amazed how creative the producers have become by changing it up a little. And then there was that audacious girl who came up to Sean for the first time in a wedding dress. The antic was funny and showed that the girl has a really sweet sense of humor. What really surprised me was when Kacie B. came out of the limo to steal Sean's heart. FYI, Kacie previously competed (I can't help but choose game show-like words) for Ben Flajnik's love. Although she seemed to be a fan favorite, her personality was slightly obnoxious to me.

However, there were still themes that remained the same. Ah, yes, the drama queen. Her name is Tierra, who was immediately given a rose right when she walked out of the limo. *Double eye roll*  And then there was that 50 Shades of Grey girl (sorry I forgot her name) but someone like her--horny and drunk--also seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout the show. And because the show needs to have at least one model on the show, Kristy, a 25 year-old model from Wisconsin, is just that. She looks like what would be the morph between Rozlyn, the controversial model from Jake's season, and Courtney, the shallow model who managed to capture Ben's heart...although that didn't really work out.

I liked how Sean handed out roses while he talked with the girls throughout the cocktail party, it saved him from trying to remember names in the middle of the ceremony. More importantly, it saved the audience from having to go through a ridiculously long rose ceremony.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the season premiere but whether or not I will continue watching is a mystery to even me. Considering that I already skipped two episodes and spoiled it on Reality Steve's blog (link will direct you to spoilers) isn't a hopeful sign. Speaking of Reality Steve, if that person really did "win" Sean's heart, then I will be extremely extremely shocked!  

The Walking Dead Mid-Season 3 Finale Review

*If you have not watched Season 2 or Season 3, I suggest you don't read this blog post as it does contain spoilers. 

I finally caught up with all the episodes of The Walking Dead.

Seriously, this show is amazing.

The suspense is profound and the most recent episode (the mid-season finale) had me SHAKING. I was terrified for Glenn or Daryl dying, especially when I learned Glenn dies in the comics. However, I was somewhat reassured because the TV show doesn't really follow the comics. When the final scene of the episode appears, it shows Merle (however you spell that prick's name) and Daryl finally meeting after nearly a year; however, the two are in dire need of help because they are surrounded by the quixotic Woodbury citizens demanding their deaths. 

I just want to make it clear right now that if the writers decide to kill Daryl....

In all honesty though, I'd be EXTREMELY angry. Only Glenn and Daryl have managed to NOT annoy the hell out of me or caused any problems. Maggie and Glenn win the cutest couple ever award during a zombie apocalypse.

I have a love-hate relationship for Andrea. When Amy died, I felt nothing but pity for the poor woman, even during her suicidal swings. Unfortunately, when she decided to be a bitch to Dale and sleep with Shane, oh yeah, AND SHOOT DARYL, it was over. On the other hand, the Season 2 finale definitely displayed her bad-ass side and my respect for her resurfaced once again.

Oh wait, but then she decided to sleep with the slimiest, creepiest dude, "The Governor," the military wannabe, and disregard Michonne's warning pleas. Seriously, is she an IDIOT? Yes, yes she is. In addition, how DARE she pull out a gun on Michonne and save the Governor's life!! She needs to snap the hell out of it. I almost hit my computer screen due her aggravating demeanor.  Michonne should have killed that creeper the moment she had the chance but Andrea screwed it all up. After Lori, Andrea is the most annoying character ever. Why does this show make females look so pathetic? The only way she can redeem herself is by saving Daryl.

Speaking of Lori, her death was absolutely heart-wrenching. Even though I hated the slutty, dumb woman, nobody should ever have to die like that. Sacrificing her life for her newborn definitely exemplified a side to Lori that the audience never knew about...just kidding. Alright this might come across as shallow and inhumane but the show should have never introduced a newborn into the storyline. Even in the comics, Judith (the baby), died with Lori when she got shot. How are they going to possibly survive and run with a freaking baby?! She would cry every 30 seconds and attract a crapload of walkers. The only way they can potentially raise a child is at Woodbury, but I absolutely despise that place. Lori should have kept her legs closed the first time. I get that she thought her husband was dead, but after two weeks you sleep with his best friend?! Really?!

All in all, The Walking Dead has climbed up to my top 5 favorite TV shows of all time, which is an amazing feat considering there have only been 2 1/2 seasons. 

How I Met Your Mother: Season 8 Midseason Finale Reaction/Review

So the How I Met Your Mother season 8 midseason finale, "The Final Page," premiered Monday and it was LEGEN-WAIT FOR IT-DARY!!!!

Yeah, you knew that was coming. Haha.

Alright so the first half hour was a trivial storyline about Lily and Marshall reconciling with their ex-stalker, aka guest star Seth Green. I was a little bored and decided to surf the net and while I was looking up Gossip Girl spoilers (no, i've never really watched the show just a few episodes but felt compelled to look it up) and while scrolling through the comments, some idiot decided to write how it was such a good night because Barney and Robin are engaged. 

Okay I'm probably being a little bitter because that person was most likely an East Coaster of Midwestie or something and watched it first....but really?!?! I was PISSED.

However, I still did not expect Barney's super sweet proposal. When Robin was on the roof of the World Wide News building and she picked up the paper that read "The Robin," which is the final page (hence, the title) of Barney's infamous playbook. The show flashes to scenes of all the steps on the parchment that Barney did, such as admitting his love to her, convincing her that they would never be together and engaging her annoying "friend," Patrice in his plans. The most memorable step of the page was when Barney says that if Ted reveals to Robin the proposal, he knows his best man has let his past love go and given them his blessing.

Robin is initially angry at his antics but when Barney tells her to flip the page, she sees the last step: hope she says yes. When she looks down, she finds Barney kneeling with a ring on his palm. 

She said yes.

*nailed, i normally hate spelling errors but this one was too good to pass up

In all honesty, I did not cry in this episode. I teared up a little but I didn't cry because well, I expected the surprise. I know I definitely would have balled my eyes out if some as---meanie hadn't spoiled it. Sighs. 

This episode made up for the past lackluster episodes that all the fans have been complaining about. I personally didn't find them THAT boring but they definitely lacked the substance that was there in other seasons. 

I can't wait to watch the rest of the season and I just received word that there's going to be a season 9, which is probably going to anger many fans but not me. Patience is a virtue. Besides, why would you want to end the awesomeness of Barney Stinson and the rest of the characters? On the other hand, I can't wait to find out who the mother is although I have a very big theory on who it might be--but that's for another blog post ;).

The Walking Dead Season 1 Impression/Review

*This review does not contain spoilers and PLEASE do not comment spoilers below. I hate spoilers. So I will hate you. Just kidding, but seriously please do not write anything that happens in Season 2 or Season 3. 

So my ongoing quest to find another TV show to go through in another record time, (seven seasons of HIMYM in 1 month, anyone?) has been halted (for now) with a show that has garnered much attention from scrupulous critics and acquired a massive fan base. I mean, 12 million fans on Facebook three seasons in? Crazy. Well, maybe not considering the massive increase of Facebook users daily, but still.  

Anyways, the show I'm talking about is none other than The Walking Dead.

Yes, that zombie apocalypse show.

In all honesty, when I first heard of the show's premise, I was quite baffled and dumbfounded by the increasing popularity. I thought it was some juvenile, unrealistic show about psychotic humans shooting zombies. Technically, the last part is true but boy was I wrong about the first part.

I anticipated a lot from the Season 1 premiere: action, suspense, mind-boggling makeup, and good acting. All of which were present in the hour long premiere. 

I will admit that I was a little fearful of things popping out and scaring the living bajeezies out of me. In fact, I actually searched up whether the show was scary or not. However, the results assured me that the show was more suspenseful than anything but is not for those that are unable to take gore. Luckily, I'm not one of those faint-hearted people; on the other hand, I was terrified and ecstatic at the same time to start this wonderful series. 

The show centers around a sheriff (well, I guess ex-sheriff considering everyone's practically dead) named Rick and his struggle to leave the zombie-infested city in order to find his family. The episode is set in Atlanta, Georgia. Most of the "walkers" (the show never refers to the word "zombies") gather in herds near big cities but are most definitely not exclusive to them. 

I don't want to spoil the season for you but I'll just say there's one word that comes to my mind regarding this show: suspense.

Whoaaaa nelly, the writers sure know how to get the audience on their feet. The viewers are nearly captivated every single second for fear of "walkers" coming out to attack the characters, killing them or even worse, TURNING them into the ravenous species. The unprecedented turn of events and settings throughout the season was a great element of the show.

All in all, I would recommend this show to those that have liked Lost (or shows similar to that), I Am Legend, or any apocalyptic films/series or are solely interested in seeing a show full of action and suspense. However, if you can't take blood or gore, this show is probably not for you.

I'm three episodes into Season 2 and I definitely agree with the critiques of the season's slow pace, yet it still manages to maintain its element of surprise with plot twists and cliffhangers.
