Jewelry Collection: Bracelets, Rings & Watches

Here is the next part of my jewelry collection. As you can see from the title, this will be a compilation of all my bracelets, rings, and watch. I say watch since I only have one. In case you did not know, I'm not an avid jewelry wearer and prefer simplistic pieces that you can pair with any outfit for everyday use.
I purchased this lovely gold charm bracelet from Guess.

I'm a HUGE fan of the TV show, Friends, so I decided to purchase a cute little accessory to showcase my love. I purchased this at the NBC Merchandise store for around $8! It's a little big around my tiny wrists though but I still love it.

This bracelet was from Urban Outfitters. E for Emily!

I got this super cute Hello Kitty watch from Kohl's for around $30 but it later went down to $25!

One of the cutest rings I've ever seen, this ring was at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Gift Shop. Random, I know.
This ring set is from H&M, it also came with a gold but I gave it away to a friend.
This Hello Kitty ring I bought when i was a little girl and it still fits since the band's adjustable. A "W" charm used to be attached to the circle underneath but I took it off. Btw, I apologize for the poor quality of the pic.

Tag: This or That

If you've watched beauty gurus on Youtube for a while, there was a popular tag a few years back called the This or That tag. I've always wanted to do it but since I didn't have a youtube channel back then, (still won't..I'm much too timid), I never had the opportunity to. However, now that I have a blog I guess I'll just jump right to it. The idea resurfaces after seeing Siri's video. Feel free to do this tag as well and comment below so I can see it :)

tag questions:

makeup:
blush or bronzer: gosh, i love both immensely but i use bronzer more on a daily basis since i'm pale and i blush/turn read easily, especially in the blazing heat, which i endure most of the year
lip gloss or lipstick:    hmmm colored lip balm? lip buttter? haha i guess lipstick since many lip glosses are too                 sticky for me
eye liner or mascara: definitely mascara, would've said eyeliner a year ago though
foundation or concealer: concealer, i hardly wear foundation on an everyday basis but concealer is A MUST.
neutral or color eye shadow: neutral
pressed or loose eye shadows:  pressed, loose is too messy
brushes or sponges: brushes, i just feel it's more sanitary, whether or not it's true

nails:
OPI or china glaze: believe it or not, i've never actually owned an opi nail polish :O they just seem so damn expensive! so i'll just say china glaze but i may change my mind when i purchase an opi polish
Long or short: short (but not too short), long nails are a hassle
Acrylic or natural: natural! acrylics impede on everyday life
Brights or darks: darks
Flower or no flower: both?

body:
perfume or body splash: perfume since it lasts longer but i use body splash more
lotion or body butter:  lotion
body wash or soap: body wash
lush or other bath company: i don't have many lushes near me, but does bath and body works count? i guess lush

fashion:
jeans or sweat pants: jeans for sure when i go out but sweat pants when lounging around at home
long sleeve of short:  long sleeves, short sleeves make my arms look fat, i either go tank top or long
dresses or skirts: i guess dresses since it's a full outfit in one haha
stripes or plaid: oohhh very difficult question....stripes
flip flops or sandals: sandals, more stylish/options
scarves or hats: scarves, nobody wears hats where i'm from
studs or dangly earrings: i love dangly earrings but studs for sure
necklaces or bracelets: another difficult question...bracelets, a bare neck looks prettier than a bare arm hahaha you know what i mean, i just like the way bracelets look more
heels or flats: flats..someday i'll conquer heels!!
cowboy boots or riding boots: riding boots, cowboy boots don't look very good on me
jacket or hoodie: i like jackets but hoodies for sure..they're just so damn comfortable!
forever 21 or charlotte russe: hmmm i like charlotte russe a lot and it's much easier to find articles of clothing in there but i've shopped longer at f21, so i guess that will win by default but it's close!
abercombie or Hollister: hollister's cheaper for relatively the same quality so that
saks 5th or nordstrom: never actually shopped at saks fifth, but i adore nordstrom

hair:
curly or straight: straight, easier to control

bobby pins or butterfly clips: bobby pins, used to love butterfly pins when i was younger though
hair spray or gel:  spray
long or short: long, but i've always wanted a long bob (i wouldn't look good w/ a short one)...wish i could work a shorter hairstyle though
light or dark: i'm assuming by light, you mean blonde? considering that i couldn't exactly work a natural blonde hairstyle with my oriental heritage, dark
side sweep bangs or full bangs: side sweep bangs...one day i'll get blunt bangs
up or down: up when dirty and down when it's not, but i feel better when it's up

Summer or winter: winter! holiday time
Fall or spring: fall! holiday time is near
Chocolate or vanilla: vanilla
East coast or west coast: my personality is most definitely an east coaster but i'm from the west coast so i guess i'm obligated to say west coast but would love to live on the east for sometime (i think i'll ultimately settle in the west later on in life)

The Walking Dead: "Prey"

The Walking Dead's become more like The Talking Dead these past few episodes but last week's episode, "Prey" turned it around. This episode focused it all on Andrea, which normally I would have a problem with considering I despise her character. However, I was actually interested this time since she seems to have become more aware of the governor's psycho ways.

Anyways, the episode sort of lags, nothing really noteworthy except Andrea sees the governor putting together a torture chamber--presumable for Michonne--which instigates her escape. She finally leaves Woodbury after convincing Tyreese and his lady friend, forgot her name, to let her go. On a side note, I really do hope they break free from the deceiving utopian society of Woodbury since they, especially Tyreese, are important characters in the comics.

After she flees, the governor finds out and pursues her and of course, with his determined "I'm going to get you and kill you" pose/stare.

Meanwhile, Tyreese and the rest of his group are taken to gather a group of walkers to release to the prison. The morally right Tyreese disagrees but his fellow survivor, the annoying husband of the woman who died at the prison..don't know his name either, gets defensive. The following day, Martinez discovers the pit the walkers were held captive in burnt to a crisp with charred walkers. He tells the governor and the viewers and the governor it was Tyreese's doing, but it turns out it was in fact, Milton, the awkward, weak, morally conflicted doctor/scientist/nerd at Woodbury aka the governor's right hand man.

Anyways, back to Andrea, she manages to find her way to the prison and is clearly tired and flustered. She narrowly escapes the governor but right when Rick is about to see her, the governor pushes her to the ground, hindering her from his view.

The episode ends with the governor telling his crew that he could not find Andrea but the camera pans to Andrea locked up and duct taped in the torture chamber she saw in the beginning of the episode.

Honestly, I'm absolutely an Andrea hater...she was a bitch to Dale, she shot Daryl, she's rash, she slept with the governor, she inadvertently chose the governor over Rick's group, and she missed the SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES TO KILL THAT MOTHEREFFING DOUCHE BAG GOVERNOR.

What was I saying again? Oh right, well even though I basically hate her, seeing her in that room invoked pity for her because I just know something gruesome is coming up for her. Can't wait.

Liebster Award Nom

I was nominated by the lovely Katie for the Liebster Award so I guess I'll get right to answering it. In case you didn't know, I've already done an actual full Liebster Award right here.

* Describe your typical Sunday
* Where is your current most used handbag from?
* Are you currently studying? If so what?
* Who is your favourite author?
* Who or what inspires you the most?
* Describe yourself in one word.
* Do you have a secret talent?
* Favourite food...
* If you had to take part in one reality show, which would it be?
* Who is your favourite designer?
* What is your favourite smell?

--My typical Sunday consists of homework and just resting or any volunteering events that day from school clubs. This is basically my catch up day for when I procrastinate homework, I refer to it as "no sleep sundays"
--My current most used handbag is this crossbody bag from Nordstrom. Surprisingly, it was only in 16$!!!! I found it in the most random place ever: the kid's section. It was in this random tub full of cute crossbody bags and I picked up a nice dark brown one and I'd say it looks pretty cute :)
--Hmm I don't really have a favorite author but J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter so clearly, I enjoy her work.
--Humble and hard working individuals that devote their time toward philanthropic efforts. It's refreshing to know that there is actual good out there in this seemingly greedy and corrupt world we live in. They inspire me to be a better person and to stay humble and give back.
--Clumsy
--I can snap really loud? I'm quite a boring person really. I guess I can manage to fall down the stairs if I don't pay attention. Yes, I need to focus while walking up the stairs...(refer to answer above)
--Donuts, particularly Krispy Kreme, Furaibo, In-n-out....there's just way too many to choose but basically anything I shouldn't be eating haha
--The Bachelor. Haha just kidding! There's no way I can live with those crazy women! The Amazing Race even though I'd be terrified out of my wits, as long as I can find a partner that can do better in open water than me, I think it'd be quite an awesome adventure. I've started watching the show this season because I'm rooting for the youtubers and I really like the concept and filming of the show.
--I don't really buy clothes based on designer so I don't have one.
--The smell in Target, Barnes & Nogle, and a bakery. HAHA hmm I really have to truly think about this one but I do love the fragrance in those two places! I guess I like the smell of coffee and donuts a lot. Actually, the smell inside a Starbucks..yes that's it!

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

KIND Bar Rave

I've always looked for a healthy snack on the go and I came across Clif bars which I learned isn't all that good for you. I have always wanted to try KIND bars since Allison (Amarixe) mentioned it in a video before in a non-beauty favorites video. I've recently tried a few and ended up trying several of the flavors and all I can say is that they are absolutely delicious and healthy! It's a win-win situation.

My favorites are the ones with dark chocolate, particularly the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt (only 5g of sugar!!), Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate (it's a protein bar), Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew, and Cranberry Almond + Antioxidants.

Here is the nutritional information for the Sea Salt one (my absolute favorite..I actually took the whole box at my grocery store!):

If you really want to learn more, check out their website. I'm not a nutritionist so I don't feel right posting what is healthy and what's not but considering that they're on a lot of health blog/nutritionists' snack recommendations, I'd say they are quite good for your body and your palate! If you ever see these at your local store, I highly recommend you pick it up.

Wet n' Wild Blush Pearlescent Pink

I decided to write a blog post on an immensely popular product, a Wet n' Wild blush, particularly Pearlescent Pink. This shimmery pink color is a level lighter than a dusty rose. I don't find the shimmer bothersome and actually like it. The pigmentation is superb and the lasting power is approximately 3-5 hours, at least for me. The quality of this product is amazing especially for the price (I think mines was $5, don't remember).

If you ever spot this at the drugstore or anywhere else, I highly recommend you pick up this affordable yet worthwhile product.

Bloglovin'

As I'm sure a majority of you have heard that the rumors that Google Reader--and Google Friend Connect--are shutting down. I believe this means most of your followers or blogs you read will be lost. I'm not totally sure since I'm still a fledgling blogger.

Anyways, I decided to conform and make a bloglovin' account in case this truly does happen.

If you guys have a bloglovin' (I recommend you make one), just follow me here.

Fashion Role Model: Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston:
Ah, yes, of course, Rachel Green. Aniston seems to defy age with her extremely toned body and tanned skin. If only I could look that good at her age (even though I won't be able to afford her skincare, personal trainer sessions, barber, and cosmetologist). Her public appearances never fail to uphold her already gorgeous complexion.

My favorite looks from her:
I ADORE her braid
Rocking a pant suit with a ponytail and looks good!? She is a goddess.
This dress is so classy and sophisticated, like her.
This dress suits her perfectly.
Secretary chic
It seems as if she beat Jolie to her famous chicken leg pose. Aniston's more humble stance makes her look better than Jolie.
Of course, her recent Oscars appearance.

More casual/dressed down:
Which was your favorite?

Story Time: Mating Cats?

Last night, I could not sleep because of what sounded like a screaming toddler throwing a tantrum outside. I was petrified since it was midnight and thought there might have been some child abuse going on or something. I was too chicken to investigate any further so of course I decided to call a stronger member in my household: my mom.

She came inside my room and heard the the cries of a baby, which would go quieter for 10 seconds and make that we-all-know-so-well temper tantrum scream. My mother was confused about this too but after a minute of listening, I could see a light bulb click in her head.

"They're the cats."

We have a few stray cats around our neighborhood that sometimes goes around our house since our neighbor feeds them milk. So apparently when cats--especially female--are in their "heat" aka mating time, they make loud screams that resemble a screaming baby. I decided to investigate further this morning and  learned that the male...part...has tiny backward spines/barbs that makes it extremely painful for the female during intercourse. In fact, the male holds down the female by biting her neck. The withdrawal is what causes the pain, but is also what stimulates fertilization. My curiosity was piqued.

Who knew? Definitely not me.

Of course there is that chance there were cats fighting over territory but I just know the cat was in her "heat."

I never in my life knew mating was that painful for female cats! I guess it's the way of life since only humans and dolphins have intercourse for pleasure. I researched even more and learned that this painful way of reproducing also applies to lions.

The screams came every 20 seconds for 5 minutes straight last night. Poor cat. It's traumatizing really. I'm still not entirely sure whether her screams were from intercourse or to attract a mate. In addition, female cats roll over after doing *ahems* because they are trying to unite the sperm and eggs (something like that, it improves chances of fertilization apparently).

Oh gee, yesterday night has turned me into some cat sex specialist.....

Essie Magnetic Polish: Repstyle First Impression

I'm a little late on the magnetic nail polish trend but I came across the Essie Magnetic Polishes at Target and picked one up from this collection for $10. I decided to go for a metallic green/olive polish called Repstyle.
The instructions were hidden behind this sticker, I had to peel it off.

The instructions say after you paint your second coat, you must immediately hold the magnet over the wet polish as close as you can for five seconds for a snakeskin design. Emphasis on the immediately!

I ended up having to redo four of my fingers and even one three times! Warning, some nails only showed designs in the middle of the nail most likely because I didn't rotate the polish above the whole nail.

This polish gave me a LOT of trouble with the somewhat vague instructions. I also kept on putting the magnet too close and occasionally got polish on it. I was really frustrated, especially because I find the design mediocre and slightly creepy at some angles. However, the polish did glide on smoothly and I didn't have to clean-up any extra residue for once.  I made a mistake by not putting the magnet over fast enough and didn't make my second coat very thick. I really do believe you need to hold it longer than 5 seconds, since some came out better than others when I hovered it over my nail longer.

First coat:

Second coat and after magnet (as you can see, some came out better than others) :
Wasn't very happy with the results

I'm still not sure whether or not I'll buy another polish from this collection since it seemed too much of a hassle the first time for the end product. Perhaps it was just me being an amateur. Just remember: GO VERY FAST AND ROTATE AROUND NAIL.

Have you ever tried magnetic polishes? If so, how was it?

***UPDATE The longer I wore it, the more I took a liking to the design and I've also received many compliments for the cool design!

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

I've never been an avid foundation wearer because  I can never get myself to wake up early enough to take the time to put on a full face of makeup. However, I do occasionally put on foundation and I stumbled upon a great foundation that works well with my skin tone.

I have the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 120 and let me tell you: every single time I wear this, I ALWAYS get at least one compliment. It doesn't have to be necessarily about my skin but just that "I look good." Whether I'm wearing eye makeup and a nice outfit or rocking a natural face and a "rolled out of bed" outfit, I always receive a compliment if I wear this foundation! It's sort of ridiculous.

I'm just going to put out there right now that if you have oily skin, this is not the foundation for you. It's quite dewy and definitely gives you this nice illuminating glow--which is awesome for my extremely dry skin--but may make those with oily skin look much oilier. This offers light-medium coverage but I can tell this foundation is very buildable. The product is blendable and covers up redness and evens out my skin tone but more product will cover up tiny blemishes. This foundation lasts throughout the day for me; however, once again, I have extremely dry skin and this product will most likely slip off rapidly on oily skin. I find my shade has quite a strong yellow undertone...perhaps it's just this shade but it suits my skin nicely. The packaging is also sleek for the incredibly cheap price ($5-$8 depending where you're from/what store). It also has SPF 18, which is always a plus. The product also strangely feels good on my skin, almost cool or hydrating if that makes sense. The only con I can say about this foundation is that I sometimes find the product transfers from my skin. For example, when I wear pullover sweaters, the foundation will get on the sweatshirt easily but I guess that applies to most foundations anyways.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 120

I also might add that this product does occasionally give me a big-ish blemish. I don't have proof that it is from the foundation itself though.

Overall, I absolutely love this foundation and will gravitate toward it if I have a little extra time in the mornings--which is a rare occasion. Those with normal-dry skin (more on the drier end though) will probably like this foundation too.

Jewelry Collection: Earrings

Nearly three months ago, I wrote a blog post on my jewelry storage. Today, I decided to share my jewelry collection, which isn't very big. I tend to stick with simple, dainty jewelry that can pair with any outfit. I'm definitely not an avid jewelry wearer and I'm sure someday I will be. However, my biggest jewelry collection definitely has to be my earrings. I love earrings because you can either go classic, trendy, or bold in a subtle manner. Anyways, here is a compilation of my most worn earrings:
Left: Comeback Brixton Earrings; Right: Darling Audrey Earrings
Clearly, these are from Jewelmint. Brixton ones are so edgy, I only dare to wear them out with my hair down.

Both are from Claire's. Aren't the little pandas adorable?!
Both from Nordstrom's Rack; Left is by Ralph Lauren, I forgot the other one
Left: Icing  Right: Delia's (I actually find them very difficult to put on due to the awkward curvature of the backing)
Icing (set). I love flower earrings.
Claire's and Icing. I adore pearl earrings.
Claire's
This is by far my favorite pair of earrings of all time. I got this near Christmas time last year at the  MGM Grand gift shop in Vegas.
